Microsoft AI has released its in-house image generation and editing model, MAI-Image-2.5, on Microsoft Foundry, securing 2nd place in text-to-image and 3rd in image editing on the Artificial Analysis image benchmark. The model launched around June 2, 2026, and is available in preview via the Foundry API.
