Google co-founder Sergey Brin is reportedly pressing the company to treat advanced coding agents as a path toward recursive self-improvement, in which AI systems help build increasingly capable successors with progressively less human intervention. The initiative centers on improving Gemini's ability to execute complex engineering work, but it does not amount to evidence that Google has achieved autonomous self-improving AI.
