The government ordered restrictions on access for all foreign nationals—including Anthropic's foreign employees—citing national security concerns, but because the company cannot verify users' nationalities in real time, it disabled both models across the board to ensure compliance. Other Claude models, such as Opus 4.8, are unaffected.
