Vaudit, a startup offering an AI bill-auditing tool, said some customers may be paying more than they should for Anthropic and OpenAI products. The report, based on the company's data, reflects growing scrutiny of usage-based billing accuracy as generative AI API consumption surges. According to reporting, Vaudit audited bills from 60 companies totaling roughly $34 million between March and June 2026, the bulk of which was Anthropic Claude-related usage. The audit surfaced billing errors such as duplicate charges, retry loops and price mismatches.
