Microsoft Makes In-House MAI-Code-1-Flash Generally Available for Copilot Business Plans

Microsoft AI announced on June 26, 2026 that its in-house compact coding model, "MAI-Code-1-Flash," is now generally available (GA) for GitHub Copilot Business and GitHub Copilot Enterprise. Once administrators enable the policy in Copilot settings, organization and enterprise users can access the model. The GitHub changelog was published the same day.
