On June 10, 2026, Mastercard formally launched Agent Pay for Machines (AP4M), a new service that lets AI agents execute payments autonomously among themselves, with more than 30 partners. It provides a way to process transactions across cards, bank accounts and stablecoins at machine speed and massive scale without human involvement, with structure, governance and trust. According to the official announcement, it operates across Mastercard's global payments network.
