The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) on June 8, 2026 released an updated list of "Chinese Military Companies (CMC)" under Section 1260H, newly designating Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holding. The list is scheduled for formal publication in the Federal Register on June 10, and alongside Alibaba it names numerous Chinese tech firms including Baidu, BYD, BOE Technology, ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) and YMTC.
