At its annual Config 2026 event, Figma unveiled a set of new features that bring coding (Code Layers), motion design (Figma Motion) and generative AI tools (Shader Fills, Generative Plugins) into a single Figma canvas, alongside design. The aim is to let workflows spanning design, motion, code and generative AI run within one screen while preserving collaboration. According to the recap, all of these operate on the same Figma Design canvas.
