Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has introduced a new family of networking gear for AI data centers, leaning on technology from its roughly $14 billion acquisition of Juniper Networks to capture corporate demand for AI inferencing. At the center is the new HPE Juniper Networking "QFX5140" switch, a 1RU fixed-form device designed for AI inferencing and edge AI. It delivers 16Tbps of throughput, with port options including 24×400G QSFP112, 8×800G OSFP800 and 2×SFP28.
