On June 17, 2026, on the final day of the G7 Summit in Évian-les-Bains, France, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei and Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis called on leaders to form a US-led coalition to define AI rules and standards. The closed-door lunch was attended by G7 leaders including US President Donald Trump and about a dozen tech executives, with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman also proposing the creation of an international forum. According to reporting, the meeting did not produce any binding agreement.
