China's State Council on June 17, 2026, included in a national plan the creation of a mechanism to assess and track the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the job market, setting out a policy of continuously monitoring job creation and displacement caused by the technology over the next five years and reflecting the government's growing concern over AI-driven employment disruption.
