According to Sensor Tower's "State of AI 2026" report, ChatGPT's market share across mobile apps and the Web fell below 50% for the first time, dropping to 46.4% as of the end of May 2026. At the same time, Anthropic's Claude is gaining ground in the paid consumer market and outperforming ChatGPT on revenue per user.
