OpenAI Brings Codex Computer and Memory Features to EEA, UK and Switzerland

On June 16, 2026, OpenAI rolled out Computer Use, a Chrome extension, Personalized memory (Memories), and Chronicle for its AI coding agent Codex to users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, and Switzerland. These features had shipped earlier in regions such as the US around April 2026, but their European launch had been delayed by regulatory reviews tied to GDPR and the AI Act. The release was announced in the official Changelog and is available via an app update.
