Perplexity has released Numbat, an open-source security suite for detecting, blocking and investigating the activity of AI agents on desktop endpoints, and contributed the project to the newly formed Open Secure AI Alliance. The company published the code on GitHub and detailed the design in a technical write-up on July 29, 2026, two days after NVIDIA and the Linux Foundation launched the alliance with dozens of inaugural partners.
