US Order Halts Foreign Access to Anthropic's Newest AI Models

On June 12, 2026, Anthropic said it had immediately disabled access to its most capable models, Claude Fable 5 and Claude Mythos 5, in response to an export control directive from the US Commerce Department. The directive demands that access be cut off for foreign nationals, and as a result both models became unavailable to all customers worldwide.
