Anthropic says Claude Opus 4.7 programmed a robot dog ~20x faster than human team

Anthropic's internal Frontier Red Team published Phase 2 of its "Project Fetch" experiment on June 18, 2026, reporting that Claude Opus 4.7 working on its own was roughly 20 times faster than last year's quickest human team at writing control software for a four-legged robot.1 The robot dog, however, still failed to fetch a beach ball.
