The US Commerce Department on June 12 issued an export control directive barring foreign governments, companies and individuals from accessing Anthropic's newest models, "Fable 5" and "Mythos 5." Citing difficulty in identifying users by nationality, Anthropic disabled both models for all customers the same day.
